You were the last one on the list again

You were the last one on the list again

I had a conversation this week with a client who has houseguests visiting. By day three, she hadn't had a moment to herself. She was tracking meals around everyone else's schedule, fitting workouts into 20-minute windows, and apologizing for needing to step away to eat.

This is one of the most consistent patterns I see in the women I work with.

Not a lack of motivation. Not a bad program. A deeply ingrained habit of making their own needs the most negotiable thing in the room.

We talked about anchors, not routines that require perfect conditions, but small, non-negotiable moments that belong to her before the day can take them.

  • Five minutes of journaling.

  • A glass of water before you check your phone.

  • Knowing what you're eating before you're already hungry.

What would it look like to put yourself on the list? Not after everything else is handled, but first?

If you have spent the last few years being competent at everything and last on your own list, that is the conversation worth having. Take your time with it. Ask hard questions about the process, the coach, and whether the structure fits your actual life.
