You have to suck at something before you can be successful at it.
Therefore, sucking becomes a prerequisite for success.
Knowing that, wouldn’t it be amazing if we then chose to seek out more opportunities to suck, rather than fearing them?
All too often, I come across people that fail to launch.
They wait for the right moment and it never comes.
They try to make something perfect and it never is.
They feel like they aren’t ready yet, but then never are.
What if you just sent it?
What if you not only accepted that you sucked, but embraced it and relished in it and just did it anyway?
Can you imagine how different your life would be?
This mindset shift is one that I work on with my clients in a lot of ways—whether as a coach or a mentor—and the changes I’ve seen in them are mind-blowing.
Actively seeking out opportunities to suck frees us up to learn, to progress, and to grow as individuals. And it gifts us the best thing of all—feedback.
Failure to launch isn’t only the failure to do the damn thing, it’s a failure to learn about ourselves in the process.
And quite frankly, isn’t that what we’re really after?
To me, that’s the beauty of life.
The beauty of life comes from first sucking, then succeeding. That perpetual growth and development that comes from just trying something for the first time.
Go and suck so bad that you probably get a bit embarrassed.
If you don’t know what you can choose to suck at, don’t worry—you probably suck at something you’re doing already, so just do more of that!
… sorry, that burn was just too good to pass up. 😆
Once you’ve tried and sucked—and you want to expedite the learning process—that’s where we as coaches come in.
Book a call with me or one of our coaches at www.masterathletic.com, and let’s talk about how we can help you push past the suck and into success.
We’re here for it.
