Your Worth It

I honestly cannot count the number of times a month I hear “I just didn’t make myself a priority.”

If I had a penny… well, I’d have a lot of pennies.

What always bothered me when hearing that is, “don’t you believe you deserve the same care you give other people?”

Putting yourself first is not selfish - it’s a virtue.  If you don’t, there will be none of you leftover to help anyone.

What good are you to your children if you gain weight and become a type 2 diabetic?

How will you care for your parents if you don’t rehab your injury properly and end up being immobile in your 40’s?  (yes, I actually thought about this A LOT after my knee surgeries).

What sort of life will you be living if 10 years down the line, you care for everyone else except yourself?

The answer - a really effing shitty one!

Ultimately, if you’re reading this, you have goals and you’ve got the desire and the drive, but sometimes it’s just too challenging to step back, set some boundaries and actually take action… but instead of thinking about how others will feel when you say “no,” start thinking about how you will feel when you say, “I can’t.”

The consequences of our decisions are not seen immediately - they compound over time.  So, each decision you make to put yourself first will move you into a better and better position, but the inverse is also true.

Training and nutrition are not a luxury expense, they are a necessary investment.  An investment into being your best self and an investment into being a more capable servant to those you love.

So, the next time you think you don’t have the time to put yourself first, take a breath and remember that you’re worth it - because you ARE!

You’ve spent enough time putting yourself last. Let us support you in taking the first step back to you. Book a call with me or one of our coaches at www.masterathletic.com.
