The Happiness of the Pursuit
Everyone talks about the pursuit of happiness, as if happiness is something you arrive at one day if you run hard enough.
But happiness isn’t found at the finish line.
It’s built into the journey.
Training works the same way.
If someone could hand you a six-pack overnight, what would really change?
Your body would look different, sure.
Butyouwouldn’t be different.
That six-pack you’re given doesn’t give you self-esteem.
Self-esteem comes from being the kind of person who consistently goes to the gym.
From keeping promises to yourself.
From showing up when you’re tired.
From doing the work when no one’s watching.
It’s not the journey.
It’s not the destination.
It’s who you become while you’re walking it.
Every challenge you choose shapes your character.
You don’t wait for life to test you — you give yourself a test.
And every time you accept something hard,
You don’t just train your body.
You build someone you respect.
That’s the real happiness of the pursuit.
